PayShield Cloud HSM is a ‘bare metal’ hosted HSM service provided by Thales, utilizing payShield 10K HSMs to offer secure, real-time, cryptographic processing for payment applications across major public clouds. This service caters to the requirements of current payment HSM users as well as new payment service providers seeking hardware-based security solutions for the first time. Thales presents its clients with various deployment options, including on-premises, cloud, or hybrid (combining both on-premises and cloud HSMs). Regardless of the chosen model, the service ensures consistent HSM functionality with top-tier security compliance.

In the cloud HSM framework, Thales oversees the physical infrastructure, and the HSMs are maintained in data centers that are managed by Thales. Customers of the payShield Cloud HSM service can utilize specialized payShield 10K HSMs that are under their management, thanks to various subscription choices that offer flexibility.

PayShield Cloud HSM operates as a ‘bare-metal’ hosted service, offering a straightforward and flexible approach to starting up and expanding your HSM capabilities as your business needs evolve. By utilizing this service, you transfer the responsibility for maintaining your HSMs at peak performance without the need to compromise on security.

You don’t have to interrupt any of your current HSM setups or applications. Thanks to full backward compatibility, you can seamlessly integrate PayShield Cloud HSM into new solutions, add extra capacity, or serve as a backup for your existing applications. Our team has dedicated efforts to simplify the process of managing a hybrid environment.
